Families

Family therapy helps improve communication and strengthen relationships by supporting families in working through challenges together and building healthy relationships.

Individuals

Trauma-focused individual therapy offers a safe, supportive space to process and heal from difficult or overwhelming experiences. At a pace that feels comfortable, individual therapy supports deeper healing—helping you regain a sense of safety, control, and connection with yourself. Individual therapy is tailored to the unique experiences and needs for children, adolescents and adults.

Support for couples navigating relationship challenges, communication, and the impact of trauma on connection and intimacy.

Therapeutic Approaches Designed to Support You

For the last 17 years I have been supporting individuals healing. In doing so I utilize:

narative therapy

Narrative Therapy

Narrative therapy conceptualizes problems as separate from

the person and focuses on the client’s skills, competencies, beliefs, values, and abilities that will assist them to reduce the influence of problems in their lives. It also considers the individual, family, community, and cultural narratives that can lead to racism, discrimination, and marginalization. Understanding these larger problem stories can create freedom and space for a person to follow their truest vision of themselves.

family system therapy

Family Systems Therapy

Family Systems Therapy combines different modalities (Bowen,

IFS, Structural, Virginia Satir, Narrative) that focus on resolving couple and family conflict as well as the long-lasting struggles resulting from family trauma. In this way, family systems approach can be utilized in individual, couple and family therapy. This approach allows us to understand the roles that a person has been conditioned to play from a young age and how this is impacting their current relationships. It also understands how multi-generational trauma impacts relational and behavioural patterns.

emdr

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an intervention

designed to address traumatic events and the behavioral, emotional, somatic, mental and spiritual impacts that result from adverse life experiences. EMDR has been shown to be effective for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). EMDR may also help to diminish urges and addictive behaviours, help with anxiety and other mental health concerns.

Somatic_Practices

Somatic Approaches

Somatic Therapy honors the wisdom of the body. It recognizes that

the body’s memory is often more accurate and relevant then cognitive memory. It looks at discharging trauma through working with the body and allowing people to become free from chronic fight, flight, and freeze responses that impact one’s entire well- being.

htt

HTT (Historical Trauma Transmission)

Historical trauma transmission refers to the ways trauma experienced by

previous generations can affect the emotional, psychological, and relational patterns of those who come after them. In therapy, we explore how these inherited experiences may influence your current well-being and work toward healing, resilience, and healthier patterns in moving forward.

ifs

IFS (Internal Family Systems)

IFS therapy is an evidence-based approach that understands the mind

as made up of different “parts”, each with its own feelings, roles and intentions. In therapy, we explore these parts with curiosity and compassion and how they influence thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. This process helps reduce inner conflict, heal past wounds, and strengthen a sense of calm, clarity, and self-leadership.

mindfulness

Mindfulness Practices

Mindfulness is the practice of bringing gentle, non-judgmental awareness to

the present moment. In therapy, mindfulness helps individuals notice thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations with greater clarity and compassion. This practice can reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and support greater balance and well being in daily life.
